This project supports the Region of Waterloo's strategic focus area(s): Icons representing the Region's strategic focus areas of Thriving economy, Sustainable transportation, Environment and climate action, Healthy, safe and inclusive communities, and Responsive and engaging public service.

On Wednesday, December 15, Regional Council approved the 2022 budget.

The Plan and Budget supports Council's vision to build a world-class community.

It includes investments to:

  • Build affordable housing
  • Improve the wellbeing of Indigenous, Black, African, Caribbean, racialized and other marginalized communities
  • Improve the mental health, safety and social determinants of health for residents
  • Implement the recommendations of the Anti-Racism Advisory Working Group
  • Expand sustainable transportation
  • Advance climate change, and more

1,452 residents participated in the Engage Waterloo Region survey. The Region would like to thank the community for their input and feedback in helping to shape the budget!

    We want to know how much Regional programs and services matter to you! The survey below takes only a few minutes to do and helps us focus on the needs of our community. Survey results will be shared with Regional Council to help them decide on how money will spent on services in our community.
