One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction, similar to 2019. Between Dover Street and Laurel Street, the removal of on-street parking will be necessary, but will be for a shorter duration than in 2019. As crews finish the sidewalks, landscaping and streetlights block by block, on-street parking will be reinstated.

Between Laurel Street and Bishop Street, on-street parking will be temporarily removed within the active construction zone to allow our Contractor to safely and efficiently complete their work.

Progress since the last update:

  • Tree soil cell installation continues in Stages 1 and 2.
  • Streetlight installation on the north side of King Street between Dover and Church Street
  • Majority of sidewalk in Stage 1 and 2 has been installed.
  • Removal of temporary asphalt on the north side of King Street in Stage 1 and 2.
  • Testing and commissioning of temporary watermain in Stage 3 including water service connections.
  • Asphalt removal on King Street in Stage 3

Upcoming work over the next few weeks:

  • Tree soil cell installation to continue in Stages 1 and 2.
  • Continue with street light pole installation between Dover and Lowther street.
  • Rail tie removal and concrete road base removal has started in Stage 3
  • Sanitary sewer installation to start in Stage 3 after rail tie and concrete road base has been removed.

We appreciate the community's continued understanding as we complete this important work.
