The City of Kitchener is considering making changes to the current regulations for fences on corner residential lots.

The fence bylaw specifies the permitted height, setback from the property line, and maintains visibility across the corner of corner lots for road safety. We are exploring updates to our bylaw to reflect current development standards and meet residents’ needs.

It is important to note that all regulations pertaining to safety and visibility for automobiles, cyclists, and pedestrians are to remain unchanged. Safety and visibility are of utmost importance and will continue to be protected under any proposed changes to the fence bylaw.
