GRT 2019 transit service improvements

Consultation has concluded

This project supports the Region of Waterloo's strategic focus area(s): Icons representing the Region's strategic focus areas Thriving economy and Sustainable transportation.

Route 61 crossing Fountain Street bridge at sunrise.The 2019 service improvements for Grand River Transit (GRT) focus on Cambridge and the Doon South area.

The Preferred 2019 Transit Service Improvement Plan includes the introduction of a new 206 Coronation iXpress route, which would connect west Galt, downtown Galt, and Preston to ION light rail at Fairway Station.

We are also looking to redesign local routes, increase service frequency, improve service coverage, and provide access to important destinations including:

  • Conestoga College
  • Cambridge Business Park
  • Lovell Industrial Park
  • Cambridge Centre Station
  • Sportsworld Station
