We are planning more action sport parks across Waterloo to complement the popular flagship skatepark in uptown, on Father David Bauer Drive.

We've selected three locations for these new parks:

  • Albert McCormick Community Centre - skateboard park
  • Stork Family YMCA/John M. Harper Branch Library - skateboard park
  • RIM Park - skateboard park and bike park

In January this year, over 300 people completed our survey and provided input into the features and design for these parks. Thank you all for your contributions!

Here are the designs!

These documents show the proposed designs for the bike park and skateparks.

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who provided input into the designs. Your comments will help us finalize the designs. We will continue to update the community as we move forward on this project.

More information

The City of Waterloo's action sports strategy provides a plan for the three most common action sports practiced within City of Waterloo public spaces: skateboarding, BMX and mountain biking. Participation in these sports has a broad appeal to both youth and young adults, as well as, an emerging family market, as adult action sport enthusiasts draw their children toward the sport. This strategy sets the vision, approach and actions necessary to guide the expansion of opportunities for urban action sports within Waterloo.
