Coloured Zone curbside collection (see schedule)

Check our leaf collection schedule to find which zone you live in, your collection options and pick-up dates.

Neighbourhoods in coloured zones have a designated week for pick-up, just like garbage pick-up. If you live in a coloured zone and are raking far in advance of your collection week, rake the leaves to the boulevard instead of the roadway. Otherwise, rake your leaves onto the roadway no earlier than the weekend immediately before your collection week. In 2021, this service is available from Nov. 8 to Nov. 29.

When raking leaves to the road for curbside collection, please:

  • ensure leaves are raked out before 7 a.m. on your collection date
  • don’t rake your leaves to the road any earlier then the weekend before your collection date. If raking earlier, only rake leaves to the boulevard or your lawn and move them onto the street on your collection date
  • never rake leaves onto a storm drain. Storm drains drain stormwater and prevent flooding.

Red Zone curbside collection

Check our leaf collection schedule to find which zone you live in, your collection options and pick-up dates.

Neighbourhoods in red zones have been identified as hot spots with very heavy tree cover. They do not have a designated week for pick up. Instead, the leaves are picked up as needed. If you live in a red zone, you must rake your leaves to the curb while the service is running. In 2021, this service is available from Oct. 25 to Nov. 29.

When raking leaves to the road, please:

  • ensure leaves are raked out before 7 a.m. on November 29, 2021

Drop-off sites are for leaves only (no yard or household waste). The following guidelines apply to these sites:

  • any other materials left at drop off locations are considered illegal dumping and will be subject to a fine. City staff will monitor the drop off sites and take a zero-tolerance approach with offenders
  • commercial haulers are not permitted on the leaf drop off sites
