This project has ended. In June 2019, city staff presented the survey results along with the final report to the City of Kitchener Council. Council approved the launch of three Neighbourhood Places Programs, including for Neighbourhood Greening, Neighbourhood Art and Public Seating.

The final report is documented here. This includes a summary of all contributions collected as well as recommendations for future action.


In 2017, the City of Kitchener adopted its first neighbourhood strategy, called Love My Hood: Kitchener's Guide to Great Neighbourhoods. The Love My Hood vision encourages residents to take the lead in shaping their neighbourhood, with help from the city along the way.

This year, LoveMyHood is developing three new resident-led programs to help residents make popular improvements to public spaces in their neighbourhoods:

  • Resident-led Greening (such as tree planting, community clean-ups and pollinator gardens)
  • Resident-led Art (such as community murals and mosaics)
  • Resident-led Public Seating (such as benches and picnic tables)

Your input is important to us!

We are asking the community for feedback on each of these programs to understand what tools, resources and supports will help to empower residents leading these types of projects in their neighbourhoods.

Each survey should take about 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

We encourage you to submit your completed surveys by May 17, 2019.
