Seeking Volunteers: Digital Kitchener Video Project
Hi fellow Task Force members!
It's Sarah-Beth here. I'm in the IT department at the City of Kitchener. We're filming a short video to feature some of the work we've been doing over the past 2+ years under our Digital Kitchener strategy, which also serves as a follow-up from our original video.
We're currently recruiting volunteers to be featured in the video in non-speaking roles. (The only dialog is a narrator.) I'd like to see the video reflect the true diversity of the City, so that people watching the video see themselves and see how the work we're doing connects with them. The shots we're filming will feature people using our Public Access Computers in a community centre, using technology while sitting in a public arena, participating in a meeting at our Digital Kitchener Innovation Lab, and a pair of parents pushing a stroller walking down the street. For the family shot, if you'd like your own child featured, let me know. Otherwise we may have a stroller with a cover to hide the fact that it's empty. (The magic of film staging!) Also for the family shot, if you have a partner or friend and want to be featured together, great! Please indicate that when you contact me. If not, we can pair you with another volunteer actor.
Filming will take place in the next few weeks, based on the availability of our volunteer actors and the video crew, and should take less than an hour for each participant. We're working with a video production company who will contact any interested volunteer actors to coordinate timing and location. We can also subsidize parking or transit to and from the filming location as-needed.
If you're interested in participating, please email me at email@example.com or leave a message with your name and contact information at 519-741-2200 ext. 7035 by this Wednesday, January 8th at 9pm.
If it's not possible to participate, no problem! Thanks for considering it and for letting me know if you are interested and available.
