Building natural gas pipelines through my community

I live near Wilson park and like to walk my dog along the little stream there almost every day. That is until the Spring of 2021, when a large section of Wilson Park became a construction zone for work on a natural gas pipeline. A bit of a blight on the park, but OK we carry on. Fast forward to Spring 2022 and every single tree on one side of the creek has been cut down! Why in the world would you do this to the park? If you use upgrades to a natural gas pipeline as an opportunity to solicit feedback (in Spring/Summer 2021) about the Wilson/Vanier/Traynor park network, why is your next step (Spring 2022) to tear down all the trees in Wilson Park?
