This project supports the Region of Waterloo's strategic focus area(s):

Did you know that YKF is the fastest growing airport in Canada?

Airports connect communities to the world and enable local businesses to compete globally. YKF is a significant driver of talent, business and investment attraction, as well as a gateway for residents of Waterloo Region and beyond, for both business and leisure travel.

Originally built in 1929, YKF is expected to grow to 1 Million passengers by 2026. With this anticipated growth in mind increased infrastructure at the terminal, runway and operations is required to continue to be the full-service, customer friendly and thriving aviation centre. We're planning today to serve Waterloo Region better tomorrow.

How you can get involved:

Thank you for your interest in the future of YKF! We want to hear from you.

As of December 22nd, 2023, the first phase of the Region of Waterloo International Airport Master Plan Refresh survey is now closed.
