Why is the Region of Waterloo doing this survey?

This survey is part of a road safety education campaign that the Region of Waterloo will be launching in early 2019. The initiative is part of a strategy to reduce fatalities and injuries on Waterloo Region roads. The purpose of the campaign is to educate all road users – drivers, cyclists and pedestrians – about how they can avoid the most common collision situations in Waterloo Region.

Will you be releasing the answers to the survey?

No, we will not be sharing the survey answers. The purpose of the survey is to collect information on residents’ perceptions about road safety. We are interested in learning what people already know about collision patterns on Waterloo Region roads.

How will the survey responses be used?

The survey responses will remain anonymous. We will use them as a baseline to measure the success of our educational efforts, as well as to plan future initiatives.
