Stage 1 and 2 Resident Reconnect

We know it’s been some time since we’ve been in contact. We wanted to reconnect with you to see if you have any feedback, concerns or questions. If you’re curious about the construction work, we’re doing, or what work is happening next, we can answer your questions.

Our construction inspector, Aden Finlay wears a white hard helmet with AECOM on it and is on site full-time. The inspector is the first person to contact on site. If you require special access to your property for moving, or are waiting for a special delivery, give the inspector enough notice so your request can be accommodated, if possible.

We know the work during a reconstruction project is an inconvenience for you to get to your property. Please let us know if you need more temporary parking passes. We hope your waste is collected on the regular day as normal, and that you’ve been able to place your waste by the curbside by 7 a.m. The contractor should be relocating your waste as required and returning any containers belonging to you in a timely fashion. If there are any issues, please let us know.

Phase 1:

  • Driveway asphalt installed May 8th
  • Landscaping (topsoil, sod & retaining walls) operations to begin shortly.

Phase 2:

  • Underground work at the intersection of Markwood Dr. & north entrance to Rossford Cr. Is scheduled to be completed early this week.
  • Reminder for residents to exit with vehicles through Phase 1 section of Rossford Cr – please note that there will still be various crews for retaining walls, landscaping, and driveway asphalt in Phase 1 – your patience is appreciated. For the safety of the workers and your neighbours, please drive at a slow speed through the site.
  • Temporary walkway – the temporary walkway that is bounded by the orange construction fence is the safest place to walk. Please note that Gedco has started servicing operations and the walkway will be affected temporarily during this time but will be restored following any disturbances. Please use the temporary walkway as your main path of travel and take additional care while traveling through site.

The construction is now complete, and the project has entered the maintenance phase. This means we will inspect all aspects of the work done to ensure that it meets our standards. We will also address any deficiencies. Once this phase is complete, we will add a final layer of surface asphalt. This is usually about two years from the start of maintenance. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 519-741-2345 or engineering@kitchener.ca
