Help us literally write history! Region of Waterloo Museums, Region of Waterloo Archives, and Region of Waterloo Library are looking for the public’s help in recording accounts of everyday life during the COVID-19 pandemic for future generations.

We are looking for the experiences of Waterloo Region residents from a variety of age groups during the length of the pandemic.

Some of the experiences we are hoping to document include:

  • Ways COVID-19 has affected you at work/school/home/other
  • How local businesses are adapting or closing during the pandemic
  • Struggles of family members infected with the virus
  • Stories of everyday heroes, i.e. people helping neighbours during self-isolation, essential workers
  • Creative ways milestones (birthdays, anniversaries, holidays) have been celebrated
  • How our community will be changed by the pandemic
  • Any positive outcomes you have experienced during the pandemic

Staff from the Region of Waterloo Museums and a small number of staff from Citizen Service at the Region will have access to your submissions. We have asked for your name and contact information so that if we have follow up questions or need clarification, we can contact you. Your submissions may be shared via social media, on our websites, and/or in future exhibitions with your permission. If you would like to see what has been submitted already, check out the link to our webpage! You can find it under "Important Links" on right-hand side of this page.

Thank you for taking the time to be part of history in the making!
