The City of Cambridge, in partnership with our local Business Improvement Areas, closed sections of some core area roads to vehicles from May to October, 2022 in order to create safe pedestrian-friendly spaces for the community.
These road closures were part of a pilot Seasonal Road Closure Program and allowed many businesses to expand patios and provided open space for walking, shopping, and dining.
Road closures took place from May to October and included:
• Queen Street East in Hespeler, between Guelph Avenue and Tannery Street (Each weekend, Friday to Sunday)
• Main Street in Galt, between Ainslie Street and Water Street (24/7 closure)
We want to hear from residents about the seasonal road closure, what you liked and what you think could be improved. By completing the survey, your feedback will help us plan for next season. The survey will be available from October 17, 2022 to November 17, 2022.
