We want to give a big thank you to the students of the environmental club, the Green Team at N.A. MacEachern Public School for helping bring more trees to Northfield Park.

After learning about the grant received by the City of Waterloo, the students reached out with a thoughtful idea: plant trees near their school at Northfield Park. They even shared well-researched suggestions for tree species, many of which helped shape the final planting plan.

Earlier this week, the students joined us to plant 39 new trees in the park.

As we continue making progress toward our goal of planting 10,000 trees, partnerships like this highlight the important role community members play in shaping Waterloo’s urban forest.
