We will be planting about 1,100 trees in and around Bechtel Park, Parkview Cemetery and the Bechtel Reserve.

Trees throughout the cemetery will provide shade along the roads and pathways, as well as provide a privacy buffer from University Ave E. We will also be adding a row of trees in the median along the soccer fields and tennis courts.

A large number of trees are planned for the hillside between University Ave E and the Bechtel woodlot. These trees will eventually form an extension of the existing woodlot, with a mix of large hardwood shade and understory trees surrounding a stand of conifers near the top of the hill.

Planting will begin in early May and continue for 4 weeks.

Tree types: White Pine, Sugar Maple, American Beech, Black Cherry, Burr Oak, Black Walnut, Tulip tree, Hackberry, Ironwood, Musclewood, Pagoda Dogwood, Witch Hazel, Flowering Dogwood.
