Where we're planting next: Conservation Meadows Park

11 September 2025

We're planting 278 trees from Conservation Dr to Sandbanks Cres! Trees will be a mix of understory and large shade trees. Most trees will be native to the area, but some non-invasive non-native trees will be used in the toughest growing locations.

Planting will take place in mid to late September and is expected to last from 5 to 7 days.

The trees will be planted:

  • Along the boulevard on Conservation Dr to help shade the sidewalk and provide a connected canopy for pollinators.
  • By the east side of the soccer field, which will help shade the area and absorb water in this wet area.
  • Following the pathways extending away from the soccer fields, in the green spaces on either side of the path.

Tree types: American Beech, American Elm, American Sycamore, Basswood ‘Redmond’, Bitternut Hickory, Black Gum, Blue Beech, Burr Oak, Chinquapin Oak, Eastern Redbud, Flowering Dogwood, Hackberry, Honey Locust, Ironwood, Kentucky Coffeetree ‘Espresso’, Kousa Dogwood, Ohio Buckeye, Pagoda Dogwood, Pawpaw, Serviceberry, Shagbark Hickory, Shingle Oak, Sugar Maple, Swamp White Oak, Tamarack, Tulip Tree, White Cedar, White Pine, Zelkova.
