Where we're planting next: Moses Springer Park

July 27, 2026

We will be planting in sections in Moses Springer Park.

  • 18 trees will be added to complete the tree-lined pathways from Marshall St towards the facility building, providing shade for trail users.
  • 127 trees will be planted along the east side of the path to extend the existing woodlot. New native tree species will help diversify the woodlot and eventually shade out a large patch of invasive grasses.
  • 68 trees will be planted behind houses on Mackay Cres to add diversity along the creek and help prevent parkland encroachment.

Tree types: Sugar and Freeman Maples, Canadian and Smooth Serviceberry, Shagbark Hickory, Blue Beech, Hackberry, Honey Locust, Kentucky Coffeetree, Witch Hazel, Black Walnut, Tamarack, Tulip Tree, Ironwood, Shingle & Burr & Chinquapin Oaks, Basswood, Nannyberry.
