The City of Cambridge is replacing equipment in two parks, as part of the 2024 budget approved by Council. The park playgrounds proposed for replacement include:

  • Sault Park; and
  • Stirling MacGregor Park.

We want to hear from you! We are looking for community participation to provide feedback about each park. Your input will guide us to create the right play equipment for your neighbourhood. Some of the considerations that are included in the design are the budget, maintenance, making the play equipment fun for everyone, and comments from community members.

Neighbourhood park playground equipment is typically installed with engineered wood fibre safety surfacing. The play equipment is suitable for ages 2-5 and ages 5-12 and is built to meet the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) criteria for safety and accessibility. (What does CSA criteria mean for City parks? Click here for common accessibility questions.)

Complete the surveys below and share your feedback!

Playground replacements could include:

Replacements to play features include different climbing structures, swings, slides, new wood fibre surfacing and updated colour schemes for the playground. We may also evaluate pathway connections and consider site furniture like benches and garbage cans.

Playground replacements do not include:

Playground replacements do not include rubber surfacing, building splashpads, and other large amenities. These amenities are not a part of neighbourhood park replacement projects at this time. (Learn more about why here.)

How does the neighbourhood replacement program work?

The City regularly inspects existing playgrounds and identifies those in need of replacement on an as-needed basis, which are then approved by the Capital Budget process.
