About the project
The Region of Waterloo plans to reconstruct Arthur Street from Kenning Place to South Street E in Elmira. This section of Arthur Street includes the downtown core of Elmira and approximately 940 meters north of Church Street, including the Canagagigue Creek bridge.
The underground infrastructure, road, sidewalks and bridge need to be upgraded, as they have reached the end of their service life. Along with these important updates, we’ll be adding active transportation improvements to make it easier and safer for everyone to walk, roll, and bike through the area.
Open for feedback
The Region of Waterloo in collaboration with the Township of Woolwich are proposing various road design options for Arthur Street to the public at this time. Thank you to everyone who attended the public meeting on November 25.
Couldn't attend in person? Watch the video presentation and view the design options below to learn more about the project. Provide your input through the online survey by December 19, 2025.
Please note: The public presentation references the successful implementation of cycling infrastructure in Elora/Fergus. This information was taken from Township of Center Wellington’s Transportation Master Plan, which references general findings about the economic benefits of active transportation, not actual findings of economic benefit.
