Work continues on the Environmental Site Assessment for the Bramm Yards

5 December 2025

As part of the environmental site assessments for Bramm Yards, two underground fuel storage tanks were identified, which previously provided fuel for City owned vehicles at the former operations facility. The tanks have not been in operation since 2013. The City’s engineering consultant has engaged a licensed contractor to remove the underground fuel storage tanks, safely dispose of them, and restore the ground surface to a safe condition. The consultant will be supervising the process which is required to obtain the Record of Site Condition for the property from the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.

The location of the underground fuel storage tanks is isolated in upper Bramm which is vacant and where there is no public parking. (Refer to the map below with the area highlighted in red).

The work is expected to commence the week of December 8 and should take approximately 5 days to complete, weather permitting. During this time, you can expect:

  • Temporary markers or fencing in certain areas
  • Equipment and personnel in safety gear on-site
  • Temporary noise and truck traffic

Access to the City parking lot will remain open to monthly customers.

Please contact the Project Team should you have any questions.
