This project supports the Region of Waterloo's strategic focus area(s):

The 2023 Plan and Budget will focus on what matters most to you.

The 2023 Plan and Budget will build what we have learned through our many conversations with community. Just some of those are related to the development of the Region’s Economic Development Strategy, the Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan, the Regional Official Plan and the creation of the Region’s first Digital Services Strategy.

Municipalities across the province are facing significant budget challenges. The two major forces impacting the Region’s 2023 Budget are cost inflation and a range of service expansions to meet community needs.

You can provide your input in many ways:

  • Complete the survey on this page.
  • Submit a question below.
  • Ipsos Reid has conducted a telephone based, statistically robust, Service Experience and Priorities survey to provide important feedback on your experience with the Region.
  • Three Plan and Budget public input sessions are planned to provide you with an opportunity to appear directly before Plan and Budget Committee on what matters most to you. These dates are being finalized and will be posted here shortly.
  • If you would like to host a community conversation, please contact us at Budgets@regionofwaterloo.ca.

  • The 2023 budget is a plan for how money is spent. This plan helps us achieve our community's most important goals

We want to know how much Regional programs and services matter to you! The survey below takes only a few minutes to do and helps us focus on the needs of our community. Survey results will be shared with Regional Council to help them decide on how money will spent on services in our community and will be used to inform our Regional Strategic Plan.

The survey closes approximately January 6, 2023.

The answers you provide will be confidential and will only be accessed by Regional staff.  If you have any questions about this survey or how your data will used please contact Deb Bergey dbergey@regionofwaterloo.ca.
