The City is initiating an application to amend the City's Official Plan and Zoning By-law for the lands at 25 Chalmers Street South. The lands are designated Low/Medium Density Residential in the City of Cambridge Official Plan. The proposed Official Plan Amendment is to redesignate the subject lands from Low/Medium Density Residential to High Density Residential. The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the lands from N1R4 to N1RM2 zone to permit mixed use development with site-specific provision for increased density, maximum height of four storeys and a minimum required parking rate of 1.25 spaces per unit.
The application is for the development of the former St. Ambrose school property. The site also contains existing community facilities.
This application is a part of the Housing Accelerator Fund Program Initiative 1.
