Might it be possible to create a pottery workspace? This would be a great wy to attract people of all ages to work together. Another thought about the proposed design: can texturing or stripes be added on the glass to prevent bird collisions? the sky reflected on the glass is very confusing to birds and mortality is high. Thanks!

All of the spaces will be multi purpose, we will be looking at providing a range of recreation, and leisure activities in each space to best respond to community needs. The exterior (and interior) material selections are on going with the Architect – the comment regarding texture/striping will be passed along to the Design Team. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Why not get the clay and glass museum to host a pottery workspace? Would make much more sense there.

The design of the Community Pavilion appears to be centered almost exclusivily around current older adult programming. What new programming do you expect to be needed as both demographics and interests change? For example, interest in a computer/games room may exist today, but not in the future.

Trends suggest that there will be a growing interest in education based programming (lecture series for example), as well as active fitness programming. Given that the interests and needs of the community will continue to change, we have designed all spaces to be flexible with the ability to adapt to new types of programming in the future.

Is the Orchestra layout in the Community Room meant to be a performance space? Will there be an opportunity to have a stage for live performances as well?

The Community Room is intended to be a multi-purpose space. It can be used for everything from dance, card playing, community meetings, and more. We have shown the orchestra layout as there are community groups that will use the space in this layout for their practices. It is not a performance space. However, we are looking at opportunities to allow for performances in the activity court.
