The City of Cambridge is looking for public feedback on the proposed Franklin Boulevard reconstruction design, an approximately 600 metre stretch of roadway spans from Thomas St to its end at Adam Street.

The design includes the reconstruction of storm sewers, watermains, sanitary sewers, service laterals, granular materials, new sidewalks, retaining wall modifications, and asphalt pavement within the project limits. The multi-use trail that currently extends from Holiday Inn Drive to Thomas Street on the east side of Franklin Blvd will be extended to Clarence Street.

New Sidewalks will be implemented between Edward St and Sunnyside Street on both sides of the road, widening all sidewalks in the proposed construction area to 1.8m sidewalks.

Public Consultation

Public consultation with residents, local road users, and stakeholders is an integral component of the design.

An in-person Public Information Centre (PIC) will be hosted on April 15th 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at the Hespeler Memorial Arena in the Gallery, located at 640 Ellis Rd, Cambridge. Residents are encouraged to visit during this time to learn more about the project and provide feedback.

An online survey will also be available on this Engage Cambridge page until May 8th 2026. Residents are able to provide feedback through this online survey.
