The City of Waterloo is initiating a Zoning By-law Amendment Update in accordance with section 34 of the Planning Act. The City of Waterloo periodically undertakes general amendments to its Zoning Bylaw in order to keep these land use planning instruments current, provide clarity, and improve efficiencies. The intent of this review is to provide technical and administrative updates and changes to regulations in the Zoning By-law 2018-050 as recommended by staff to provide greater clarity, maintain conformity with policies of the City and other orders of government, and ensure consistent interpretation of regulations.

The proposed amendments are primarily housekeeping changes and include minor amendments in response to recent legislation including Ontario Regulation 257/25 to improve clarity and address function, and ensure effectiveness throughout the bylaw.
