Final update on Harry Class Pool upgrades

8 July 2025

Now that Harry Class Pool is open for the season, we’re excited to share our final update on the upgrades.

Last year, we asked for your input on what new features you’d like to see at the pool. Your feedback was incredibly helpful. We considered inviting even more feedback this year, but what you shared was already detailed and thoughtful enough to guide our plans. Based on what we heard from you, we’ve chosen new toys and equipment for the pool that focus on play, accessibility, and storage options.

What’s new for summer 2025

Although we originally planned to make all upgrades this summer, many aquatic play amenities ship from the USA. With so much uncertainty surrounding tariffs this spring, we decided to split the upgrades over 2 years.

This summer you’ll see new small pieces like floating mats, a raft, and pool balls. We also purchased two Wibits, inflatable play structures that float on the water (like bouncy castles for the pool!). One is for the deep end, one for the shallow end, available on warm and sunny Saturdays, Sundays, and special events. Check out the photos below.

Other amenities we plan to add for 2025 include:

  • outdoor lockers (there are still lockers in the change rooms)
  • a portable lift to make the pool fully accessible

And we’re not done yet! There are more new features planned for summer 2026, based on feedback gathered through this process. We will also keep exploring ways to enhance your experience at Harry Class Pool, based on your suggestions.

This project is now closed. If you have any questions, please reach out to Dave Millar, Aquatics Supervisor, at dave.millar@kitchener.ca or 519-741-2345 (TTY:1-866-969-9994).
