October 19, 2026

Construction on the Kitchener Fire Station 8 and Housing Development project continues to move forward, with several key milestones completed over the past few weeks.

In early October, crews completed utility connection work on King Street, followed by asphalt patching and road markings. With this work complete, King Street reopened to traffic and construction activities shifted to Madison Avenue.

Since then, utility connection work on Madison Avenue has also been completed, allowing the road to reopen to traffic. Crews have also completed the planned tree removals on site.

Work is now progressing on the next phase of construction, with excavation underway for the future retaining and parapet wall.

Take a look at the photos below to see the latest progress on site.
