Public information meeting #1

October 16, 2026

The City of Waterloo, in conjunction with the City’s engineering consultant R.J. Burnside & Associates Ltd., would like to invite you to attend a Public Information meeting to review the proposed plans for the reconstruction of Longwood Drive and see how they may affect your property or residence. This informal ‘drop-in’ style information session provides you with an opportunity to review the project in detail with City and Project staff.

Date: Tuesday October 27, 2026

Time: 6:15 to 8 p.m.

Place: Beaupre Room – Albert McCormick Community Centre, 500 Parkside Drive, Waterloo, ON

Beaupre Room is first room on the left when entering from the doors facing the skate park.

The meeting provides interested residents with an informal forum to review the preliminary design plans, ask questions of City and engineering consultant staff, and learn more about the overall project scope and schedule.

The City encourages all interested residents to attend the meeting to learn about the project scope and how they will receive further information about the project prior to construction. Topics of interest to residents and frequently discussed include:

•Identifying trees that may be removed.

•When driveway access will be restricted and where to park vehicles during this time.

•How pedestrians access is maintained during construction.

•How and when water and sewer services may be interrupted.

•City standards for replacing sanitary and water service pipes.

•Measures to reduce impacts to landscaped features on private property.

•Waste collection and mail delivery procedures during construction.

•City standards for replacement of driveway aprons (bottoms) within the municipal right-of-way and measures reduce impacts to private driveways.

•Potential requirements for access to private property to replace water and sanitary service pipes.

•City policy regarding boulevard areas with landscaping completed by residents.

Presentation material provided at the meeting will include large sign boards showing the new design and an information package detailing general project information and frequently asked questions. Digital versions of the presentation will be provided on the Engage Waterloo website following the public information meeting.
