The City of Cambridge is looking for additional public feedback on a Streetscape Plan and Urban Design Guideline project for the Milling Road area in Hespeler Village. The objective of this project is to create a shared future vision through an urban design guideline document specific to this unique street of Hespeler. Milling Road is considered to have a high degree of potential for revitalization.
This page will service two purposes:
Gather initial public feedback about the Milling Road area to compliment the stakeholder engagement meetings. (Currently Underway)
To host a virtual Public Information Centre overviewing the final draft guidelines and streetscaping concepts for public comment.
The project team has currently completed one stakeholder meeting with the private property owners of the adjacent properties to City owned lands, 25 Milling Road and 54 Guelph Avenue. There are two more stakeholder meetings planned and one Public Information Centre. In order to support these initiatives, we invite members of the public to complete the preliminary feedback survey which is now open.
The topics of the questions include reasons for visiting Milling Road, street amenities, types of parking, area theme and culture, wayfinding signage, and safety. There is also a general comments box at the end of the survey where you can provide written feedback on topics that may not have been covered.
This project holds importance to all community members at the heart of downtown Hespeler and the project team values public input in the decision-making process. The project is scheduled to be completed in July 2021.
