We are developing a Long-Term Parking Strategy to support a more vibrant and walkable downtown. The strategy will be a 20-year visionary guide for a coordinated, strategic approach to parking:

• operations
• policy
• planning
• financial sustainability

Managing downtown parking is a balancing act between competing priorities including customer service and financial sustainability. Our long-term parking strategy will be a guide for striking the right balance.

We have hired LEA Consulting Ltd. to do a study that will:

• identify the amount and location of existing parking
• assess demand for parking in downtown Kitchener
• develop a strategy to make better use of the current parking supply
• identify parking improvements and identify new products the City could offer
