This culvert is located on Fountain Street North approximately 175 metres north of the roundabout at Kossuth Road/Fairway Road North; a map showing the location of the structure is provided in Appendix A. The existing 3.0m span concrete culvert conveys flows of the Randall Drain, which is a municipal drain with status under the Drainage Act. The existing culvert is comprised of an original structure at the interior, with extensions on both ends of the original structure. The 2024 OSIM report indicates that the culvert requires a minor rehabilitation in 6 to 10 years, as there is scour and deterioration near the footing, and cracking and delamination of the culvert barrel. The condition of the existing structure is not the primary reason for structure replacement; replacement of the culvert is occurring because the culvert is in conflict with the proposed sanitary trunk sewer required to service the East Side Lands. Replacement of the culvert is planned for 2026, so that sanitary trunk sewer installation can occur as early as 2027.
