The Rockway Centre is Kitchener’s only dedicated older adult community centre. It offers a place for residents to come together, socialize, and take part in a wide variety of programs and activities designed specifically for them.

Unfortunately, the current building is outdated and needs to be replaced. It wasn’t originally designed as a community centre and doesn’t fully meet the diverse needs of our older adult population. To better serve our community now and in the future, we need to build a new, modern older adult centre.

Our vision for the new centre is to create a welcoming, accessible, and modern space. It would include amenities like:

• a gym
• multi-purpose rooms with safe and appropriate flooring
• fully accessible washrooms
• inviting areas for socializing
• spaces for activities like music, billiards, and cards
