As part of the City of Kitchener’s work to provide consistent and reliable services, we are planning road and sewer improvements on the streets listed above. This work will be completed in two stages:
- Stage 1
- Expected to begin in Spring 2028 and be completed by Fall 2028.
- Includes:
- Forest Hill Drive from Greenbrook Drive to Shadywood Crescent
- The full length of Shadywood Crescent
- Stage 2
- Expected to begin in Spring 2029 and be completed by Fall 2029.
- Includes Forest Hill Drive from Shadywood Crescent to Westmount Road East
Residents on affected streets will receive information before construction starts and updates throughout the project. Updates will also be posted below.
Planned improvements include:
- Upgrade the storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water mains, including fire hydrants where needed
- Replace sanitary and water service connections from the new mains to the property line
- Install new curbs, gutters, and sidewalks
- Upgrade the asphalt roadway
- Replace all driveway ramp entrances with concrete
These improvements will replace aging underground pipes and road features, helping to reduce the risk of future service problems. The project will be funded through utility user fees. There will be no direct cost to homeowners.
