Sports Parades of History: What we heard

Thank you to everyone who took the time to answer our survey last fall! We received a total of 92 responses. Most were from local sports fans or family members of a child or youth involved in sports and athletics.

The following is a summary of the key findings and themes from the survey. At the end is a list of what we plan to do with your feedback.

Survey highlights

The findings show that the Sports Parades of History continue to be valued by residents. The findings also suggest several opportunities to improve how the displays reflect and recognize our local athletic accomplishments.

Many respondents proposed athletes, teams, or sports they felt should be included. This suggests a strong desire to continue adding to the displays, which have been inactive for some time.

We will continue digitizing the photos and creating writeups based on what we heard in the engagement survey. In the meantime, we have applied for a grant to support the creation of a digital version of the entries. We will let you know the outcomes and next steps later this spring.
