We're building a Survivor Garden in Victoria Park and we want to hear your thoughts on what features would make this an inclusive place.
The City of Kitchener has been presented with a unique opportunity to create a garden as a tribute to and healing space for all survivors of illness, loss and/or trauma in our community, and those touched by or experiencing another’s survivor journey. Recognizing that each person’s story is different and personal, we are defining survivor in a very broad sense. This space is intended to be an inclusive place where people can connect, celebrate, find solace or reflect on their journey. Because this is a space for the community, we need your input.
We know each person’s experience is unique and for that reason, we're asking that you provide your input to help us design a space that is inclusive and that will help those in our community heal, celebrate and grow.
We also understand that your journey may continue and that there are times when you may need support and help from others. If you are in crisis, there are services in the community that can help, visit wwhealthline.ca for a full list of organizations.
Unfortunately, this project has been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Subscribe to follow this project and get updates on its progress.
