Construction update - restoration

Construction to install the oil-grit separator (OGS) unit will begin in November. The contractor has provided the following approximate schedule:

  • November 3, 2025 – Mobilize to site to begin installing groundwater dewatering system. The system will lower the groundwater in the area to ensure dry conditions for excavation. After the initial setup, pumping will occur for seven-10 days to lower the groundwater elevation.
  • November 17, 2025 – Servicing crew begins excavation of the roadway to install OGS unit. This phase is expected to take five days.
  • November 24, 2025 – Final restoration of roadway (concrete and paving). Four days.

Final restoration of landscaping in the park to occur following removal of materials and equipment from staging area. Schedule to be established based on rate of progress and weather conditions.

During the initial dewatering phase, a lane shift will be used to keep 2-way traffic open. During the excavation work to install the OGS, a full road closure between the Fire Hall driveway and the first residential driveway’s will be required. The sidewalk on the west side of Gatestone Blvd., beside the work area, will be closed for the duration of the work, however the sidewalk on the east side will be open.
