September 18, 2026

Note: Construction updates are being provided as a courtesy to keep residents appraised of upcoming work. Due to the nature of construction, schedules can quickly change, and residents should be prepared for unexpected changes.

Construction work between now and October 2, 2026 include:

For Phase 1A (Willow to Herbert)

  • Minor works related to the in-place abandonment of the watermain on the NW side of the road

For Phase 1B (Herbert to Mary):

  • Removal of temporary watermain.
  • Possible start to the installation of the new pedestrian crossover equipment at Herbert St, pending receipt of equipment.

For Phase 1C (Mary to King)

  • Separation of watermain from broader system and switchover of properties to temporary watermain. This work will require a temporary water shutdown. The area affected by this upcoming shutdown is more limited than previous ones. It also includes some buildings on King St that haven’t been previously affected. Please check your mailbox for a notice from the contractor.
  • Start installation of storm sewer, sanitary sewer and watermain.

If you receive a water shutdown notice, please note that there are some tips and tricks that you can do to minimize the inconvenience. Filling up tubs or buckets with water in advance can allow you to have water for sanitation. Toilet tanks can be refilled to allow flushing or poured quickly into the bowl of tankless toilets to flush. Small amounts of water can be rationed into sinks for hand washing. Pitcher’s can be filled up in advance and put in the fridge for drinking.
