Public meeting

10 November 2025

The City of Waterloo and engineering consultant, WalterFedy, would like to invite you to attend a Public information session to review the proposed plans for the reconstruction of Union Street East and see how they may affect your property, business or residence. This informal ‘drop-in’ style information session provides you with an opportunity to review the project in detail with City and Project staff.

The public meeting will be held at the following date/time:

Date: Thursday December 4, 2025

Time: 6 - 8 p.m.

Place: Church of the Holy Saviour

33 Allen Street East, Waterloo, ON

*Enter church parking lot from Allen Street. Park in rear parking lot if driving a vehicle. Enter through rear doors to Parrish Hall.

The public meeting provides interested residents an informal forum to review the preliminary design plans, ask questions of City and engineering consultant staff, and learn more about the overall project scope and schedule.

The City encourages residents to attend the meeting, learn about the project, and how they will receive further information about the project prior to construction. Topics of interest frequently discussed at public meetings include:

  • Identifying trees that may be removed.
  • When driveway access will be restricted and where to park vehicles during this time.
  • How pedestrian access is maintained during construction.
  • How and when water and sewer services may be interrupted.
  • City standards for replacing sanitary and water service laterals (pipes).
  • Minimizing impacts to landscaped features on private property.
  • Waste collection and mail delivery procedures during construction.
  • City standards for replacement of driveway aprons within the municipal right-of-way and minimizing impacts to private driveways.
  • Potential requirements for access to private property to replace water and sanitary service pipes.
  • City policy regarding boulevard areas with landscaping completed by residents.

Presentation material provided at the public information session will include large sign boards showing the new design and an information package detailing general project information and frequently asked questions. Digital versions of the presentation material will be provided on the Engage Waterloo website following the meeting.
