August 19, 2026

Note: Construction updates are being provided as a courtesy to keep residents appraised of upcoming work. Due to the nature of construction, schedules can quickly change, and residents should be prepared for unexpected changes.

Construction works between now and August 28 include:

For Phase 1A (Willow to Herbert)

  • Placement of granular base material on roadway and driveways.
  • Asphalt paving of roadway and driveways.

For Phase 1B (Herbert to Mary):

  • Continue installation of watermain.
  • Start installation of sanitary sewer.
  • Installation of water and sanitary pipes from the mains to property lines.
  • Start commissioning process for new watermain.
    • Please note that once commissioning and testing of the new watermain is complete, there will be another water shutdown to connect the new watermain to the existing system. As per regional standard, 48 hours notice will be provided.

Traffic Update

Please note there have been delays for the installation of speed humps at 90 John St E due to resource availability. Transportation Engineering is currently looking at alternatives for this area, such as flexible bollards, which are to be installed shortly. The radar board near 80 John St E will also be maintained.

Please note that traffic calming measures on John St E, Allen St E and elsewhere in the neighbourhood will be removed in September/October to avoid operational conflicts – e.g. preparation for winter maintenance, loose leaf collection, etc.
