Traffic monitoring

May 29, 2026

Traffic monitoring on the following nearby streets:

  • John St. E (at 3 locations between Mary and Moore)
  • Herbert St. (at 4 locations between George and Roger)
  • Roger St. (between Herbert and Bowman)
  • Allen Street East (at 4 locations between Mary and Devitt)

Traffic volumes at all locations were up compared to preconstruction conditions. Average speeds at all locations were up slightly from preconstruction conditions at all locations, except Roger St where average speeds were the same.

Based on the slight increase in speed, and other driver behaviours noted by neighbourhood residents, the City has requested that the area be added to the Waterloo Regional Police Services (WPRS) Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.

Residents are encouraged to report speeding or aggressive driving concerns to WRPS using their online form - https://www.wrps.on.ca/en/services-reporting/online-reporting-.aspx. Scroll down and choose “Traffic – Chronic Traffic Problem in a Neighbourhood” and fill in as much information as possible, clicking Continue as required.

Traffic monitoring in the neighbourhood is on-going. If any updates are required they will be posted on Engage Waterloo.
