Uptown Community Improvement Plan (CIP)

In Spring 2025, the City of Waterloo reviewed the Community Improvement Plan (CIP), a tool designed to encourage property owners, businesses and developers to undertake projects that enhance the community. By offering financial incentives for things like enhancing storefronts and upgrading accessibility, the CIP helps boost local investment and supports economic growth.

Following the public engagement period, a draft plan was presented to Council and approved on Dec 1, 2025.
