Route 2 update and presentation to Council March 9

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback on the City’s Route 2 active transportation wayfinding project. Community input highlighted two main priorities: the need for safe, all-ages-and-abilities infrastructure, and clearer route alignment and navigation.

Based on what we heard, staff are recommending upgrades such as:

  • improved trail paving
  • safer crossings
  • new pedestrian crossovers
  • clearer wayfinding along the Stanley Park–Downtown–Uptown corridor

Presentation to Kitchener City Council March 9

We are presenting a report with our recommendations for Route 2 to the Community and Infrastructure Services Committee of Kitchener City Council. If approved, construction is expected to be completed before the end of 2026.

That meeting takes place on Monday, March 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Kitchener City Hall (200 King Street West). Here is more information about that meeting:
