Own or operate a business in Waterloo Region? Count your business in!

In a changing economy, local information matters. The Region of Waterloo, in partnership with local cities and townships and Waterloo Economic Development Corporation (Waterloo EDC), is conducting the 2026 Workplace Count survey.

The survey collects important information from businesses across Waterloo Region. This information helps us better understand the local economy and plan for the future.

By taking part, businesses help local government and economic development partners better understand the needs of Waterloo Region’s business community. The Workplace Count gathers local business information that is not fully available through census data or other public sources.

This 5-minute survey includes question topics such as:

  • number of employees
  • type of business
  • where products or services are sold
  • basic business information
