22 Church Street West
Transforming Township Lands into a Thriving New Development
The Township of Woolwich acquired 22 Church Street West and is pairing it with the municipal parking lot at 3 Maple Street in downtown Elmira to advance housing and economic development goals. As part of the Township’s broader strategy under the Housing Accelerator Fund, this redevelopment site has been identified in the Elmira Core Urban Design Study as a key opportunity to increase residential density, enhance downtown character, and promote vibrant, mixed-use spaces.
The Township is moving forward with Services and Housing in the Province (SHIP) as a partner on this redevelopment. Together, we are working to deliver a proposal that reflects quality design, includes affordable housing options, and supports the live-work lifestyle valued in Elmira.
This project will contribute to the long-term goal of creating sustainable, walkable neighbourhoods that bring more people, housing, and activity into the downtown core. Public engagement opportunities will be provided as the project progresses, and the Township looks forward to working with residents, businesses, and SHIP to shape this important redevelopment.
