Learn more and share your input until July 3

June 16, 2026

We’ve shared the draft Transportation and Mobility Plan (TMP) - now we’re inviting your input to help guide how the plan's policies and networks are put into action across Kitchener.

Review the draft plan

In fall 2025, a public questionnaire, in-person pop up events, and an online mapping tool collected feedback on transportation needs, challenges and opportunities in Kitchener. The feedback was used to help shape the draft TMP.

The draft plan outlines a long-term vision for how people and goods will move around Kitchener to 2051, with a focus on creating a safer, more equitable, and sustainable transportation system. It includes:

  • A vision and goals centred on expanding travel choices, improving safety, advancing equity, and aligning land use with mobility
  • What we heard from the community in earlier engagement, including priorities like better transit connectivity, safer walking and cycling, and addressing traffic pinch points
  • Policy directions to make it easier to walk, roll, and bike, including filling sidewalk gaps, expanding cycling infrastructure, and creating more people-friendly streets
  • Strategies to strengthen transit, such as improving access to stops, supporting the Frequent Transit Network, and exploring transit priority measures
  • Approaches to managing roads, parking, goods movement, and congestion using more data-driven and multimodal decision-making
  • A strong emphasis on mobility equity, ensuring residents of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds can access opportunities across the city
