Former Kraus Lands

The City owns approximately 13.37 hectares (33 acres) of land on University Avenue East adjacent to the fire station at 911 University Avenue East, referred to as the Former Kraus Lands. These lands will be used to increase the housing supply, including adding 100 affordable housing units along with commercial units, trail connections and community amenities.

Part of the land has been set aside around the property as woodland, wetland and nature sanctuary. Two years of environmental monitoring is required and is currently underway.

Learn more about the key elements of the proposed plan.

Following a request for expression of interest, Urban Legend Developments was selected for the development of this land. As the project progresses, there will be opportunities for public engagement on aspects of the design.
