Temporary changes to garbage and recycling collection during construction

August 5, 2026

As part of this road reconstruction project, there will be temporary changes to garbage and recycling collection.

Because these streets are under construction, Regional collection trucks cannot safely access the work area. To ensure waste collection continues, temporary arrangements have been made for the duration of construction.

How collection will work

  • Place your garbage and recycling at the curb by 7 a.m. every Thursday.
  • The contractor, Bel-Air Excavating & Grading Ltd., will collect the materials.
  • Waste will be transferred to a designated collection bin within the construction zone.
  • The contractor will arrange for weekly disposal.

Important information

  • Do not use your black garbage cart during construction.
  • Instead, place your garbage in the black garbage bags provided by the contractor.
  • Make sure all garbage is securely bagged and placed at the curb on collection day.
  • Continue to place recycling materials at the curb as usual.

These temporary collection arrangements will remain in place until construction is complete and regular waste collection service can safely resume.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during construction.
