What are Lancaster West's strengths and needs?

We want to understand both the strengths that already exist across the Lancaster West park network and the needs that could be addressed through future improvements.

In the activity below, there are four categories:

  • Community strengths: People, groups, skills, knowledge, and resources in the neighbourhood
  • Community needs: Things residents would like to see improved or supported
  • Park strengths: Existing features and qualities that benefit the community
  • Park needs: Improvements that could help the parks better serve residents

How can a strength help address a need?

As you explore the activity, think about this question. For example:

  • A local school (community strength) could care for naturalization plantings (park need).
  • Improving existing trails (park strength) could help strengthen connections throughout the neighbourhood (community need).
  • Community volunteers (community strength) could help support youth programming in a park (community need).
  • A shaded seating space (park need) can support community-led events and neighbourhood get-togethers (community strength).
