McLennan Park and Lions Park are important places where people in our community gather, play, and connect. We’re updating the long-term plans for both parks to make sure they continue to meet community needs now and into the future.
The first phase of this project involves retiring the splashpad at McLennan Park. This change is needed because of ongoing issues with the ground sinking at an accelerated rate at McLennan Park, which makes it difficult to safely maintain certain features. By designing a new splashpad at Lions Park, we can ensure it remains a fun and accessible space for families to enjoy.
The second phase will focus on updating the long-term plans for McLennan Park and Lions Park. These plans will guide how the parks grow and change to better serve the community.
We want residents to be part of this process. Your input is essential to making sure the updates we make reflect community values. We also know that you will have questions and concerns about the changes coming to these two parks. There will be many opportunities to share your feedback and ideas with us, both online and in person.
In phase 1, help us understand what you value about the McLennan splash pad and what new or different elements could be added when it moves to Lions Park. We will consider your feedback when creating the concept design for the relocated splashpad.
In phase 2, tell us how you currently use these parks, what features matter most, and how we can improve the overall design of these spaces. By sharing your ideas, you’ll help shape the look, feel, and function of both parks in the future.
